Dot Dot Cup

School Project | 3 Weeks | 2019

Slip Casting Ceramic

The Dot Dot cup was designed to go beyond traditional ceramic works, which many are symmetrical and well-shaped. I meant to use hard, fragile, and glossy material to express "softness" and to create contrast. The pattern on the cup was inspired by Japanese artist Kusama. I tried to create an interesting and funny effect by combining the orderly polka dots with an organic surface.
